The Electric Vehicle Racing Group was founded in 2018 by a handful of mechanical engineering students who wanted to take the School of Engineering’s experiential learning initiative to the next level. The team worked tirelessly over a period of 18 months to develop its first race car in time for the Formula Student Electric China 2019 competition in Zhuhai.
EVRG has been growing rapidly since, attracting students from across the School of Engineering, the School of Science, and even the School of Business and Management. Team members are expected to get their hands dirty and challenge themselves beyond their comfort zone; learning-by-doing.
Our team strives to push the current status quo of education. Students are much more capable than they think, and with the right guidance and a willing attitude to learn, building a race car is just a stepping stone to a bigger future.
